Broker-dealer IT services
IT and security for broker-dealers and investment firms, built around the FINRA and SEC rules your examiners ask about.
IT for firms that answer to FINRA
Broker-dealers hold customer accounts, trades and communications that regulators expect you to protect, keep, and produce when asked. FINRA’s exams ask how you manage cybersecurity, vendors and business continuity, and much of the answer is your IT.
adrytech works with many broker-dealers. We run the technology, help you keep it in line with the rules, and help you document it for your compliance team and your examiners.
The rules that shape your IT
- Business continuity (FINRA Rule 4370): a written plan for serving customers through a disruption, including how your data is backed up and recovered, and where your people work if the office can’t be used.
- Customer information (SEC Regulation S-P): written safeguards for customer records. Since the 2024 amendments, it also requires an incident response program, notice to affected customers within 30 days of a breach, and oversight of service providers such as your IT company, including how quickly they must tell you about a breach.
- Records (SEC Rule 17a-4 and FINRA Rule 4511): books, records and business communications kept for the required periods, protected from changes, and retrievable when regulators ask.
- Identity theft (SEC Regulation S-ID): a program to spot the red flags of identity theft in customer accounts.
